Carbide Bars Applications
Carbide bars are used on many different types of applications, most often in Turning Centers and Swiss, however they can also be used in Machining Centers. They are valued for their ability to get into small and tight places and come in several different styles depending on the application. RedLine Tools offers boring bars, grooving bars, threading bars, and profiling bars all of which are made from solid tungsten carbide. Carbide bars are twice as rigid as HSS and can tolerate much more heat.. This makes them more versatile, improving production times and increasing tool life. All RedLine Tools are Proudly Made in the USA.
Boring bars are typically used to enlarge a hole that already exists. When the bar is plunged and moved on the x or y axis it can create a slot or asymmetrical hole. If you want a traditional circular hole it can be rotated on the Z axis. RedLine Tools offer a variety of boring bar styles for every application. We have Quick Change, Sharp Corner, Radius, Extreme, Long-Reach, and bars for aluminum and for plastic. Available in Uncoated (Bright) or AlTiN coating for longer tool life.
